mercury playback engine
Want to make Mercury available with your GPU card ??
[disclaimer - try at your own risk. dont do this if you dont know what all this is about. And it may make your sytem unstable/broken. But for me - it worked wonderfully]
[i have Win7ultimate64 on a cheap asus board, amd 64 dual5200, nvidia geforce8600gt - and i hate people saying You cant do that, without explaining why]
1) open the file c:\program files\adobe\adobe premiere pro cs5\cuda_supported_cards.txt.
add your video card. mine is GeForce 8600 GT (name got from Device Manager).
close & save.
2) open nVidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings
-> Add -> (browse: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS5) -> select Adobe Premiere Pro.exe -> OK
(i only get Premiere CS4 listed - so i chose this. you may have it listed already.)
select MultiDisplay/mixed-gpu acceleration = and set it to Compatibility performance mode. close all.
3) reboot
Thats it. Now in Premiere Pro CS5 -> project -> project settings -> general -> Video Rendering -> you can choose Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration.
Like i said. This worked for me AND it really works. :)
